Four kinds of pack

Light packs deal with the conditions you were shooting in. Stock packs make it look like a film. Tools are the things you add on top when a picture needs a little more. And a Look is the finished picture — a complete grade in one click, for when you'd rather not assemble one. They're all built the same way, so they stack — pick a light, pick a stock or a look, add what you need.

Light — the conditions
LIGHT Daylight Open shade, and sun and shade in one frame The one that fixes rather than flatters. Open shade doesn't just make skin blue — it drains about 15% of the colour out of a face while making the greenery behind it more saturated, and white balance can't fix either half. Start here, then put a stock on top. 12 presets + 2 masked extras Open → LIGHT Nightfall Night, tungsten and twilight Receptions, blue hour and city streets. Most night presets give you one slider called Glow, but the glow in a film photo is two things — the haze across the whole frame, and the warm bleed around a bright light. Stock — the film
STOCK Emulsion Colour negative — the film look, one layer at a time Tone curve, colour, glow, halation and grain as separate presets you combine. The one doing the real work is the crossover — on film, a grey in the shadows and a grey in the highlights are different colours, and white balance can't fake that. 11 presets + 2 Classic-only extras Open → STOCK Silver Black & white — tuned for faces The seven classic filter conversions, three film curves and grain. It exists because Lightroom's own black and white is hard on skin — it leans on the green channel, which is exactly where blemishes and redness live. 14 presets Open → STOCK Reversal Slide film — Kodachrome, Velvia, Provia, Astia Slide film was made to be projected in a dark room, and a dark room needs more contrast to look normal. You're looking at a screen with the lights on — so the curve comes in two versions. It's also the one pack where blowing the highlights is correct. 12 presets Open →

Tell me what's wrong with them

These get better when people use them

Emulsion went through three versions in a week, and every fix came from running it on real photos — skin going red on a groom, green creeping into the shadows of a night shot. Neither turned up until the presets met actual pictures.
